Personal Statement – Do’s • Make it relevant to all – one statement fits all course choices • Make sure you have plenty of experiences to write about and provide examples • Always be positive about yourself, but honest and truthful • Spelling, punctuation and grammar, and written style really matter • Make sure you are likely to get a good tutor reference
Personal Statement – don’ts Don’t lie about your achievements Don’t mention individual institutions by name Don’t try to be too ‘wacky’ to get attention (can backfire) Don’t copy others work - UCAS Similarity Detection Service Leave it till the last minute!
