Rationale • Creates a single-agency environment • Current organizational names are inconsistent • The new names reflect a clear affiliation with DLA • Allows customers, suppliers and stakeholders to know the full scope of agency capabilities • Builds a greater sense of community between our 26,000-member workforce across 48 states and 28 countries • Increases DLA customers’ awareness of the Agency’s comprehensive mission, products and services. • Customers do not readily associate field activity names with the larger DLA. • Renaming affects organizational titles only, and does not change missions or functions. • A clear identity makes it easier for customers to interact with DLA.
