  5. Different Types of Search Engines - Crawler-Based Search Engine They create their listings automatically. They “crawl” or “spider” the web, then people search through what they have found. • An Example would be: Google www.google.com

A search therefore looks for matches only in the descriptions submitted. • An example would be: Open Directory Project www.dmoz.org
