Hunters & Gatherers Early Man spent most of their time on the move looking for food= hunter & gatherers NOMADS= people who move around a lot
Adapting to their Environment TECHNOLOGY-tools or methods that help humans perform tasks Used fire & made tools/weapons out of stone
Neolithic Age: The New Stone Age After the last ice age humans began to change how they lived They domesticated, or tamed, animals and plants Farming replaced nomadic hunting & gathering It lasted from about 8,000 BCE to 4,000 BCE
Farming Revolution: the Neolithic Age = the farming revolution Revolution = BIG changes Built permanent homes & created farming villages Steady food supplies meant healthy, growing populations. More workers to grow crops = a surplus(extra) of goods to use for trade
specialization- the development of different kinds of jobs. People chose to do one job. civilizations-complex societies with different social groups, organized governments, art, religion, and a writing system. The 1st civilizations arose in river valleys Rivers = good farming conditions & help people travel to trade easier
