  18. Insights The healthcare system has three products: • Care – curing illness, etc • Consumed by sick people • Reducing loneliness • Consumed by lonely people, often elderly • Providing comfort • Consumed by the terminally ill, • and people that do not trust the healthcare

  20. Insights • Insight 1: The patients do not want any contact or talking, they want to get well. • Insight 2: The patients prefer machines over humans, to maximize their integrity. • Insight 3: Technology moves the border between sick and healthy. • …

  21. Insights • Insight 4: Information has no mass. • Insight 5: Care will take place everywhere. • Insight 6: The only thing that scales with the increasing amount of elderly, is the increasing amount of elderly. • They must be enabled to perform more of their own care, to stay independent.

  22. Healthcare in the near future • Care will take place everywhere, spread in space • Care will start with well-being, spread in time • Everything will be connected with 5G and stuff

  23. Problem 1: Slow management Top healthcare management: ”There are certain things we can NEVER change. We that have been around a long time, we KNOW…” 2 million years of development show us that we cannot say this.

  24. Problem 2: The systems • Invest a little, save a lot, but on a different account. The economical systems sub-optimize. • Staff say that the patients do not want anything to change! Patients do, they want everything to change to patient-centric. Look at “Kry”. Technology does not take away anything.

  25. What will care look like in 50 years? • Data-driven processes and Artificial Intelligence will be standard. • Patient-centric care, on their terms. • Care and well-being is integrated, predictive care. • A lot of cyborg-like stuff correcting faults in our bodies.
