Distinguishing Facts from theories As we discussed in the previous discussion, certain words or expressions in affirmative statement usually indicate the existence of facts—that is, information that has been proven accurate. Here are some more: Know sure prove show clear Objective certain scientific positive Other words can indicate theories—that is, ideas that believed by some people but have not been proven to be true. Here are some: Think subjective doubt possibly disagree Likely possible probably claim imply theorize
Read the text entitled “The Human Brain-New Discoveries” Interactions 2, pp. 197-199 3.1.
