  3. PART ONE Introduction: What areas of the brain might a person use to compose music? To throw a ball? To paint a picture? What happens in human brain when people sleep? Why do people laugh? What do scientists say about human brain?

Distinguishing Facts from theories As we discussed in the previous discussion, certain words or expressions in affirmative statement usually indicate the existence of facts—that is, information that has been proven accurate. Here are some more: Know sure prove show clear Objective certain scientific positive Other words can indicate theories—that is, ideas that believed by some people but have not been proven to be true. Here are some: Think subjective doubt possibly disagree Likely possible probably claim imply theorize

  6. Read the text entitled “The Human Brain-New Discoveries” Interactions 2, pp. 197-199 3.1. Write T on the lines before the statements that are true, while write F to those are false. ___ Different parts of the brain control different activities or parts of the body. ___ Most people don’t use all their creative ability. ___ Newly discovered memories from childhood are false memories. ___ The human brain is mature by the age of twelve. ___ There is no real difference between the brains of males and those of females. ___ Music appear to be the result of education. ___ Emotions may affect people’s physical health.
