Franz’s Life • He was an Austrian Composer. • He was born on March 31, 1732 in Rohrau, Austria ( which was a small village near the border of Hungary). • His parent were Mathias Haydn and Maria.
Franz’s Life • When he was about 6 years old, he moved with an relative (Johann Matthias Frankh) in Hainburg. Johann Matthias Frankh worked as a teach in Hainburg. • There in Hainburg, he learned to play the violin and the harpsichord. • Soon after he had lived there, the people of Hainburg began to hear him and wanted him to play at the church.
Franz’s Life • Then one day , a man by the name of Georg von Reutter came to the church when he was visiting the town and heard him playing and asked him to come with him. • In 1750, Franz moved to Vienna to teach for the next nine years as a chorister..
Franz’s Life A Freelance Musician is a person that works for people without a commitment . • In 1749, he was dismissed because he was no longer could sin high choral parts. • After being dismissed, he worked as a freelance musician and lived with family and friends. • He worked as a freelance musician for 10 years and during this time he wrote his first string quartets and his first opera.
Franz’s Life • In either 1757 or 1759, he got his first real job as a Kapellmeister (music director) for Count Karl von Morzin. • In 1760, he married Maria Ann Keller, but had no children.
In 1761, he was dismissed, but was offered a job as the same thing for Eszterházy family, but as a assistant. • Eszterházy family was one of the wealthiest and most important family in the Austrian Empire. • In 1781,he became close friends with Mozart. • Franz died in 1809 and he died at the age of 77.
