Classwork: • With a partner, read and analyze the JHS Alma Mater • The analysis should answer the following questions: • What is it to “toil”? • Who is “her”? • Explain “our hearts call”. • What is a “beam”? • Explain the line “Leading to some higher shore”. • Describe “honor” and “esteem”.
