Technology Vision Statement Roanoke County Public Schools will create and implement a shared vision of learning with all stakeholders with the use and integration of the most effective and appropriate educational technology to promote the success of all students. Technology will be used to encourage exploration, research, safety and higher level thinking, developing life-long learners from preschool and beyond. Effective implementation of technology will help all stakeholders—students, parents, teachers, administration, and community – meet the community’s needs. ISLLC 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6

  3. Goals Using 21st Century Technology for RCPS • Promote the use of the most effective and appropriate technologies to support teaching and learning. (ISLLC 2) • Obtain, allocate, align, and efficiently utilize technological resources (ISLLC 3) • Build and sustain productive relationships with stakeholders in efforts for collaboration to mobilize community resources (ISLLC 4) • Offer virtual learning opportunities for teachers; support staff. (ISLLC 2) • Provide ongoing training for administrators and curriculum supervisors in the effective use of technology and collaborative learning tools. (ISLLC 1)

  7. Summary • Effective implementation of technology will help all stakeholders—students, teachers, administration, and community—work together to achieve our community’s needs.
