Project description • 3DNews Daily Digital Digest - Russia's first independent online edition to deal with information technologies. Having been around since July 17, 1997 and without external investments, the project was able to grow up and turn into a successfully operating Internet company and take its unique niche on the RuNet Web-space. • The purpose of the project is to provide media coverage of what's going on the IT market through publishing prompt and maximally impartial information; to make the audience aware of hardware and software novelties as well as assist Russia's computer users in making the right choice, purchasing and using the hardware and software in the most efficient way . • For this year alone, over 20 mln visitors have visited the website's title page. Every day, over 55,000 readers looking for prompt and impartial information on computer industry visit the website. Current monthly audience for "Daily Digital Digest" is as many as 900 thousand unique visitors with over 5 million pages viewed. Our daily mailing is submitted to over 70,000 subscribers. . • We keep in touch with over 100 authors that come from many countries, and established direct contacts with leading international hi-tech companies. The employees and correspondents at 3DNews regularly take part in international hi-tech expos. We are open to any cooperation with independent authors, direct information vendors and manufacturing companies . • For the past five years, the 3DNews project has been among the leaders in the "Hardware" section on the "Rambler Top100" rating; is among the ‘Russia’s Top Twenty Online Resources’ as per the "Mail.Ru" rating. Structure of the website • The materials published on the website are mostly reviews, comparative tests and testing techniques. For convenience, all the materials are partitioned into rubrics. The rubric names match the main computer components. The rubrics are laid out in a fixed order, with the convenient navigation taking the user instantly to a review of interest from both the title page and any other or leading to a needed section through tabs. The structure of the website is continuously progressing: as a new technology comes up, there appears the respective section giving the coverage. Quite recently, two more rubrics have been added, and now they take their fixed place on the pages. • Users can download all necessary utilities and new drivers for the newly purchased hardware, demo versions of games etc. www.3dnews.ru 2005
Structure of the website • Unlike the printed edition, an Internet project offers the advantage of instant response to events going on the market and speed of making the readership aware of the latest news. The news reel of the website is made up of two sections: Hardware and Software which give the user the most fresh information on novelties of hardware, software and games. . • The daily news mailing is based on the materials of the newsreel. Regular subscribers can instantly navigate over the link of the announcement to read the full coverage of the information . • Users can also exchange views, ask questions, help each other and get advice in the forum. • New section collects price-lists of on-line stores www.3dnews.ru 2005

On these days, the server attendance is 15% higher than the average. Users show peak activity (estimated by the number of pages viewed) on Wednesdays. • The weekly website attendance distribution generally meets that of the RuNet on the whole . As many as 86% of sessions on the website are done by former visitors. All this points to high figures of daily audience or visitors who come to the site over 3 times a week. • The high share of repeated sessions with a small viewing depth of the site indicates that users visit frequently but view no more than 2 pages (e.g. a new review). www.3dnews.ru 2005
