What is the nintendo switch? The Nintendo Switch is the newest gaming console from Nintendo. It prides itself on it’s portability, with a gamepad with a stand and substantial battery life. It came out on March 3rd, 2017 at the price of $300 (cheaper then most consoles starting price of $400-$500)
Who created the Nintendo Switch? You may be surprised, but Nintendo actually created the Switch. Nintendo is a company that started way back in 1889 selling trading cards, roomba, owning romantic themed hotels and a ripoff of lego. However none of these ventures had much success.
Who created the Nintendo Switch? (P2) Nintendo then began its rise to power in 1974, when they began distribution of the Magnavox Odyssey. Then in 1981 a designer named Shigeru Miyamoto came up with an game called Donkey Kong, an arcade game. It became wildly successful, receiving ports to consoles like the Atari 2600.
Who created the Nintendo Switch? (P3) Nintendo released it’s first family console in 1983, called the NES (nintendo entertainment system). It sold incredibly, being the highest selling console until the Nintendo wii was released. They continued making consoles whilst also creating massively popular games. Nintendo has created giant video game franchises like Mario, Zelda, Donkey kong and many more.
Why was the Switch created? The Nintendo Switch was created to compete with modern gaming consoles and make up for the less than ideal reaction to the Wii U, which received heavy criticism for being a repackaged wii with a big dumb controller. The switch was considered a pretty good console, and had some of the best games maybe ever to be released with it.
How was the Switch going to make money? The Nintendo Switch sold itself on its portability most of the time, showing off the joy-cons (controllers) being disconnected from the gamepad to make two seperate controllers. It was shown in the trailer with a group of friends joining up and playing together, then showed another person returning home and setting up on their big screen.
