Grind tissue in liquid N 2

Incubate @ RT X 5m. 7 ml Trizol/g tissue (use glass pipettes). Grind tissue in liquid N 2. vortex. Thaw on ice. Shake for 5m @ RT. Hand shake for 15s @ RT. 0.7ml CHCl 3 /ml Trizol. Spin @ 3500 krpm X 15m. Aqueous phase to 50 ml tubes. Measure approximate volume. organic phase.
