St. Lawrence River The St. Lawrence River is the largest river in North America. The river is important because it connects the Great Lakes to the Atlantic Ocean. This route has provided a way to Canada’s inland for many years, bringing trade, settlers, and missionaries into Canada’s core. Today, it is the route for many large shipping industries.
Region? ?
The Great Lakes Huron, Ontario, Michigan, Erie, and Superior make up the 5 Great Lakes. These lakes are so deep that they could cover the continental US with 9 ½ feet of water. They provide a large resource of fresh water and are big enough to affect the weather by cooling down summers & bringing rain. The lakes support a large fishing industry, & the land surrounding the lakes is thick with forests and filled with natural minerals & metals.
