New Features of the L3 Unpacking tool Marumi KadoLBL
L3Nada (Gregorio Bernardi LPNHE -Paris) Two-fold Strategy at the Reconstruction level:1) Static Nada- Fixed threshold on neighbors (100 MeV) - Low threshold on Hot Cell candidate (1GeV) 2) Dynamic Nada- Dynamic threshold on neighbors:max(100MeV, 2% Ehot Cell candidate) - Higher threshold on Hot Cell candidate (5GeV)One-fold strategy for L3Nada Use Dynamic nada with: - A rather lower threshold on the Hot Cell candidate - Same requirement on the neighbors
Timing for the L3Nada method L3Nada Timing Without L3Nada L3Nada with 2GeV threshold Events Time (ms) Without L3Nada Events L3Nada with 3GeV threshold L3Nada with 1GeV threshold Time (ms)
What threshold should be chosen? L3Nada Choice of Threshold The average time seems to dependent on the number of Hot cell candidates to investigate … Average Time (ms) L3Nada Threshold (GeV) So is the RMS of the time distribution … RMS Time distribution (ms) For timing purposes a 3 GeV threshold is perfectly reaonable L3Nada Threshold (GeV)
Run 148847 L3Nada Performance Energy threshold: Events Events 1 GeV # Hot Cell Candidates # Hot Cells Events Events 2 GeV # Hot Cell Candidates # Hot Cells Events Events 3 GeV # Hot Cell Candidates # Hot Cells Events Events 4 GeV # Hot Cell Candidates # Hot Cells Events Events 5 GeV # Hot Cell Candidates # Hot Cells
Essentially one Hot Cell in Layer 17 (EC Outer Hadronic)- Seen most of the times for a threshold below 3 GeV - Missed by higher thresholds Events Energy of Hot Cell (GeV) Estimate of threshold (see new threshold at reconstruction level):1 GeV Seems too low (would get rid of physics)2 GeV Reasonable rejection, poor timing3 GeV Best compromise4 GeV Good timing, poor rejection5 GeV Inadequate rejection
Non Linearity and Individual Channel Gain corrections(Robert Zitoun - Stony Brook & Annecy) Complete Robert’s corrections:1) Universal Non linearity correction 2) Channel-by-channel Refined Non linearity correction 3) Channel-by-channel gain correction Fed in from flat files, to be handled later by the Calibration manager Timing:- Little time consuming at the construction when uploading the coefficients - No visible difference while running
