Natural Resources Oil Oil was discovered in Qatar in 1938, When the oil was discovered it gave great interest to the neighboring countries like Bahrain.. The state-owned Qatar General Petroleum Company (QGPC) was formed in 1974. Now called Qatar Petroleum.Total reserves are estimated at approximately 33.7 billion barrels. Fish Fish are cold-blooded aquatic vertebrates. Fish is also one of the most consumed foods in the world. Fish usually have scales and breathing through gills, though there are fish without skin and which breathe through lungs. Fish range in size from large sharks to small, colorful fish which can fit in a household aquarium.
