Basics • Merchants participate because of our volume and prompt payments • House participate because of our improved prices and service • Member owned and operated • Two full-time staff work for you • MIT supports, does not control
Financial Model • Secured credit card model • estimate your monthly spending • put down a deposit • bills are charged against your account each week • you pay the balance each month • Special projects • notify Cooperative before project begins • arrange a special payment schedule
Discounts • Cooperative percentage discount • Received as end-of-year dividend • Deducted at time of purchase • Covers operating expenses of Cooperative • For all vendors • Lower initial prices • Immediate • Not deducted at time of purchase • Not for all vendors
