Location • Trinidad and Tobago is a twin island state. This means that the country is made up of two separate islands.
Location • It is located in the Caribbean, to the North East of Venezuela (South America).
Flag • The national flag of Trinidad and Tobago is made up of 3 colours; red, white and black. • The red represents the warmth of the people, the white represents the sand of the beaches and the black represents the richness of the land.
Culture • Throughout history, people of different nationalities and races have been present in Trinidad and Tobago such as the Spanish, British, French, Africans, Indians, Chinese, Portuguese and Syrians. • This results in our current mixed culture where there are people of different races and religions coexisting.
Culture • There are many places in Trinidad which are named in different languages. For example, towns are named in English such as ‘Port of Spain’, ‘Cedar Hill Village’, Spanish ‘San Fernando’, ‘San Juan’ and French ‘Sans Souci’, ‘Crossiere’ and ‘Pointe-à-Pierre’.
Food • Trinidadian food has been inspired by its rich history, resulting in popular dishes such as bake and shark, crab and callaloo and doubles!

Nature • Trinidad and Tobago has 2 national birds. These birds are the Cocrico and Scarlet Ibis.
Nature • In Trinidad, there are many bird watching and nature sights. Some of these are Asa Wright Nature Centre, Caroni Bird Sanctuary and The Wild Fowl Trust.
Music • Trinidad and Tobago is famous for its music, particularly Calypso and Soca. • Some music artistes from Trinidad are Calypso Rose, Jillionaire of Major Lazer and Machel Montano.
Carnival • Carnival is a two day festival (Monday and Tuesday) that comes before the start of Lent (Ash Wednesday).
Carnival • During these two days, there are festivities in the streets. While music plays; people dance, sing and have a good time!
