  4. Challenges Presented By Adolescent Sexual Behavior • HIV/AIDS & Other Sexually Transmitted Disease. High rates of sexually transmitted disease, particularly among young people. These are much more than an inconvenience. They represent a serious public health problem.

Challenges Presented By Adolescent Sexual Behavior • Lack of Future Focus Young people who: • postpone sexual involvement, (2) set positive achievable goals for their lives, and (3) work toward those goals, are more likely to be successful than those who become involved in sexual relationships early in life and focus on now rather than a better future.
