Introduction • This document is provided to assist you in preparing a good presentation • It is expected that all the papers comply to this minimum requirements • Presentation can appear well in your monitor, need not be so when projected • The session moderators is authorized to ensure the uniformity of the presentation is maintained
Hardware Available • OS - Microsoft Windows XP • Microsoft Power Point Office • High resolution LCD projector • Remote mouse
Your Presentation File • Your presentation file will be preloaded by the secretariat • You can view the file on the day before your presentation • No correction is allowed on site • The file should be in either PowerPoint .ppt format or in .pps format • One file per presentation and the file should be self contained • No links to other files or the internet
Recommended styles • 15-20 slides • Every slide should have a short clear title • Maximum 9 lines of text on each text slide with 10 words maximum per line • Page Setup instructions: • Select settings as for “On Screen Show” • Slide orientation - Landscape
Recommended styles • Use short phrases, not full sentences • Use Arial, or similar sans serif font • Titles = 40 Point font size • Text = 28-36 point font size • Text colour contrast • Dark lettering on a white background or Light lettering/lines on a dark background
Compulsory Slides • “Title” slide (logo only permitted here) • “Objective” of your work slide • “Outline” of your talk slide • “Conclusion” slide
Presentation Contrast • High contrast is very important • For lines/text on dark background • Foreground: White or yellow only • Background: Dark blue • For text/lines on a white background • Foreground: Black or dark Blue only • Background: White
Display of slides • Contents of each of the slides should display instantly. • Do not use slow transition effects. • No sound effects while transitioning. • Do not use animation effects.
Slides with Figures • Keep figures and graphs simple • Make text in the figures readable • Use at least 20 point font • If the image is scanned in, the quality depends on the scan pixel resolution • For reasonable quality use about 100 dpi. • Scanning at higher dpi will make your file big and may slow your presentation

Important dates • 3 June 2014: Final version of PowerPoint file (on-line submission) • 2 to 4 July 2014: Practice presentations in Speaker’s Room • 2 to 4 July 2014: Symposium sessions
Conclusion • Keep your slide contents simple • Clear message in every slide • Use large fonts for clear visibility • At least 36 pt. for titles, 28 pt. for details • High contrast colors • Highlight your results; do not show all the contents of your paper
