How to Create a 900 Reference Document • Open the MIT/MTS program • Click on “Create / Edit Test” from the drop down menu option • Choose “900 – Reference Report”
Prefix 900 report (continued) • On the sample card for “Materials Description” enter “External Documentation” or like notation • Click on the “Test Data Tab” & type in the Region • “Save” the report • Once the report is saved, the option to add a document reference will be made available • Click on “Add” and fill in the required fields
Prefix 900 report (continued) • This information entered should include: - assigned document ID - choice of the document type from the drop-down - general description of the material the document is for - quantity represented - satisfactory status - comments or detail (be sure to include the document type in comments if “other” is chosen above)

Tips for assigning a ‘Document ID’ • The order in which the documents are recorded will not effect the final appearance of the report • The MIT sorts entries first numerically than alphabetically • Assign a logical numbering system • An easy point of reference is the item number (Example: “645.0100” for Geotextile Fabric – Type DF) • Additional documents received for an item can be assigned an additional alphabetical notation (Example: “645.0100A” for the certified test report and & “645.0100B” for the certification)
