  20. Procedures regarding Tardies Each student will get two tardies per class and on the 3rd tardy, a consequence will be assigned, either by the classroom teacher or a referral will be sent to the office, then discipline will be assigned by the student’s grade level principal.

  21. Each student should not exceed eight (8) days per semester if he/she expects to earn credit in each course enrolled (Note: Earning course credit requires that students meet the attendance requirement, earn a passing grade in the course, and take the final exam for the course unless exempt because of the attendance incentive. The attendance requirement required is figured on a class-by-class basis). Absences are categorized as either Excused or Unexcused (Truancy is considered an Unexcused absence). ATTENDANCE

  22. RE-ENTRY AFTER ABSENCE: When a student is absent, the parent should call the principal’s office by 9:00 am to explain the reason for the absence (in some cases, additional documentation may be required: Dr. notes, counseling appointments, etc). Failure to do so could result in a check by the attendance secretary and principal. If a student leaves school during school hours, he/ she will need to sign out in the attendance/principal’s office with a verified reason. Upon return to school during regular school hours, students will need to sign in at the attendance/principal’s office for proper verification.

  23. QUALITY ATTENDANCE PROGRAM To qualify for the Quality Attendance Program you must meet the requirement listed below during the current semester for each semester: 1) To earn the Quality Attendance Final Exemption for ALL classes the student must: have an average of 93% attendance, or better, for the semester (excluding school activities), 2) have a passing grade in the course at the time of finals.
