THE BIG QUESTION – WHAT INSTRUMENT WILL YOU PLAY?INSTRUMENT SELECTION – think carefully!
INSTRUMENT CHOICES Rate each 1-10 Which are your top three??
What to think about? • Do you like the sound of the instrument? • Does the instrument suit YOU physically? (length of arms, height, hand size, finger pads cover holes? Braces – much more work and time for brass…can be done….committment • Future goals (doubling, changing?) • Your background in music…experienced to little experience makes a difference with more difficult instruments • Availability • Expense…we do have some instruments at KLO
THE PROCESS! What will Mrs. S do with the selection forms? Start with everyone’s first choice If it works, great… May have to move some to second choice A few to third choice, will meet with you next class (Play a related instrument if you can!) NO LISTENING DIAGNOSTIC
