Centerville High School Band Program CHS Marching Band The Centerville Jazz Band The concert ensembles-Wind Symphony/Symphonic Band/Concert Bands-are the foundation of the Centerville Band Program. The many varied co-curricular ensembles and other music classes are offered to students to supplement the basic concert band experience.   8. Where does the money go? • Band Camp • Music, instruments, and drill • Hotel costs for overnight stays • Food costs for students • Transportation • Truck Rentals • Specialty Staff Salaries • Uniforms and props • Competition entry fees All this and more!!! 8

  9. Treasurer’s Report Operating Account: $21,710.00 Scholarship: $5,639.00 Reserve: $67,442.00 Total: $94,791.00 9

Here is the breakdown • Student Fees • Cover approximately 70% of the annual costs • Fundraisers help reduce your portion of fees Centerville Band Boosters • Cover approximately 30% of the annual costs • Fundraisers build CJB Booster General Fund to cover Booster’s portion CJB Boosters cover 30% Student Fees cover 70% 10

  12. How are we keeping costs down? • Moved Band Camp to CHS • Increased fundraising opportunities • Reduced long distance travel 12

  13. What is this going to cost me? It’s not free, but it is a lot of fun! CJB Student Marching Fee TBD + 15 Calendars ($75.00) Marching Band Fees are due Dessert Night July 22, 2012 Band Members Will Not Be Allowed to attend Band Camp Until All Fees Are Paid in Full

Fundraising • The Centerville Band program is supported by the Centerville Band Boosters. • Both in school and extra curricular programs are soley funded by the Booster Club. • Fundraising provides funds for both the General Booster fund and provides you with an opportunity to lower any fees for the additional programs.

Who Benefits? • We all do!!! • Fundraising impacts the General Fund. • We need everyone to participate to make our fundraising efforts successful How can you help??? • Participate in every fundraiser and meet the per student fundraising goals • Volunteer at all the events we host: • MEPA • Soaring Sounds • Centerville Invitational

  20. Calendar Blitz • Our next important fundraising date is Calendar Blitz night – July 5. Mark your calendar! • Everyone is required to sell 15 calendars (included in your fees). Calendars are passed out at Blitz night. • Blitz night helps you sell those calendars – it’s very important to be here to participate.

NEW ANNUAL GIVING CAMPAIGN FUNDRAISERS… • Tentative Launch Date – July 2012 • Centerville Jazz Band is a 501C3 What does this mean? • Donors can personally contribute and now receive a tax benefit • CJB will be creating a committee to identify potential donors from alumni and local businesses 21
