Two similar miracles • Both brought to Jesus by others • Both times Jesus was asked to touch them • Both were taken aside from the public gaze • Both healings were staged in the process • Both were anointed with the Lord’s spittle • The spittle was placed on the affected area • Both were requested not to seek publicity

The deaf and the blind healed For Then the eyes of the blind shall be opened, and the ears of the deaf shall be unstopped. Then shall the lame man leap as an hart, and the tongue of the dumb sing: for in the wilderness shall waters break out, and streams in the desert. Isa 35:5-6
The reaction of the gentiles And superabundantly were they being struck with astonishment , saying – Well hath he all things done, - Both the deaf he caused to hear, and the dumb to speak. Mark 7:37 - Rotherham

The corrupting influence Any small concession to their traditions, their politics and their man-made laws, would begin a process of corruption and movement away from the words of God. • Beware the leaven of the: • Pharisees • Sadducees • Herodians
