Community Colleges 2 year and transfer UCs and CSUs take CC transfers before transfers from a 4 year College
I’ll go to SDSU and transfer to UCSD…. WRONG!! You are behind everyone else in priority and may not get in!!! They will probably fill all transfer spots with CC students.
Commuter school Missing big sports Missing excitement of a 4 year college Need to transfer partway through Cons of CommunityCollege
$$ Class size More choices at transfer time for the same gpa as in high school. Equivalent classes Same degree at end of 4 years Advantages of Community College
Freedom = Choices Be prepared for CC or a 4 year University Complete a-g coursework Be competitive at CC in the transfer courses Apply to University in Fall; CC in the Spring.

Private College/University Many people think private schools are too expensive… …however they often give more money in grants and scholarships Apply for financial aid when you apply to the school, NOT after you have been accepted!
What private schools want to know about you… Take initiative, self starter, mature, concern for others, sense of humor, tolerance, ability to work with others Telling signs of maturity… Do you have the ability to work out solutions on your own and seek advice on your own? Do you take charge of your own life? Do you do things in a timely manner?
