College of Marin • Developed a partnership with a local non-profit, Strategic Energy Innovations, to implement a course in photovoltaic installation. • Eligible trainees are incumbent workers. • Upon Completion, trainees are eligible to take the national certification exam for the industry.
Workforce Investment Board of Marin County"Supporting a Skilled Workforce - Building a Sustainable Community" • Construction Committee: • Developed Photovoltaic installer training curriculum with local Construction Trades Union leadership. • Developed partnerships with Regional Occupation Program, Association of Marin Builders, IBEW affiliate, and Marin City CDC.
Marin City CDC Model • Developed a renewable energy training program for local residents & other low income job seekers who are disconnected from the workplace. • Industry Partners: Local solar companies & the construction trades • Model: Initial classroom based training followed by on the Job Training provided by industry partner.
