JCI FESTAC EXECUTIVE SECRETARY 2012 REPORT BY OLUWATOYIN ATANDA
IN THE BEGINNING In the past nine months, we were able to meet majority of our financial obligations, most especially to our venue hosts and to the National body, we had general assemblies with quality trainings and buddy time. As I present my report with a lot of pictures speaking, I am certain you will also agree with me that we had a great year but WE CAN BE BETTER. JANUARY 2012 Despite the challenges which the nation as a whole faced, we had successful deliberations as we charted the course for the year. We had a successful general assembly and a Facebook page was also created to help disseminate information and publicize the chapter. FEBRUARY 2012 AREA A CONFERENCE, FEBRUARY 2012 AT ABEOKUTA Area A conference in Abeokuta was attended by Pelumi Oludahunsi, Oluwatoyin Atanda, Ben Odhomi, Adekunle Sanusi and Omotola Kukoyi which he was installed into the JCI Nigeria Noble House as JCIN Councilor. It was a great honor for us because our Charter President in person of Amb. Okunuga Oyebanjo was the Conference Director. JC Omotola Kukoyi also launches the first timers’ competition at the Area A conference in Abeokuta representing the JCI Festac Brand. FEBRUARY BUSINESS MEETING At February General Assembly we hosted our own JCIN Ambassador Oyebanjo Okunuga, EVP Area A and his team. NVP Area A, District 1, JC Ikenna Onwuka and Area A Training Director, JCIN Ambassador Ben Odhomi were present. Being the season of love, we had the 'lights up for love celebration' and our EVP Area A who was present in a dual capacity was also our trainer for the day.

MARCH 2012 The General Assembly was also a success, Mr. Bisi Adewale a young leader, a business coach, a workplace psychologist, a management consultant and an entrepreneur trained on salient work place issues, a training which was exceptional, interactive and interesting, also the day was graced with the homecoming of a vibrant member Ayo Momodu. APRIL 2012 FOLUSO OLULEYE SPORTS COMPETITION, IBADAN, OYO STATE On the 6th April – JCI Festac was well represented at the Foluso Oluleye Sports Competition. JCI Festac also sponsored the E-sport segment of Foluso Oluleye. JCI Festac in collaboration with Lakraft took 4 plasma screens and 4 game consoles (PS3 and Nintendo Wii) for the enjoyment of all participants of Sports Competition. Games which were available for contention were Soccer (FifaEleven 2012), Lawn Tennis, Boxing and F1 Racing. The games were played in a competitive manner; participation in the E-Sports was free. JCI Festac also broke the record and won a gold medal in the dancing competition

In this month of April, World President Bertolt Daems also visited Nigeria. Visitation of the world president was also supported by JCI Festac. JCI FESTAC EVP OMOTOLA KUKOYI MEETING WITH JCI LONDON In April, JCI Councilor Omotola Kukoyi EVP Individual and International flagged the brand of JCI Festac on his vacation to UK by attending a joint business and community meeting with JCI London at the London Chamber of Commerce.
JCI FESTAC NOTHING BUT NETS PROJECT On Sunday, April 29, 2012 Nothing But Nets Campaign was a success, as JCI Festac distributed treated bed nets to Amuwo Odofin Primary Health Center and pregnant women at the Agboju Market, Amuwo. PICTURE 18: E-CARD FOR PUBLICITY OF NOTHING BUT NETS CAMPAIGN
MAY 2012 May Business Meeting was used as a medium of deliberating on activities to be carried out during the second phase of the year which was fruitful and we welcome our EVP Omotola Kukoyi back home. PICTURE 23 – 24: BOARD OF DIRECTORS
Also in may, the African and Middle East conference was hosted in Morocco with four representatives from JCI FESTAC. JCI FESTAC also sponsored the first timers competition at the Collegiate Conference in Owerri
JUNE 2012 New Members Orientation took place on the 16th of June, in Isolo hosted by Oluwatoyin Atanda with the support of the team was well attended by our intending members with JC Oyebanjo Okunuga and JC Adekunle Sanusi as our trainers of the day. Breast cancer awareness seminar in conjunction with Pink Belle held on the 17th of June at Chelsea suite by 3pm. The importance of breast cancer awareness cannot be over-emphasize so the board decided that we should do this seminar in lieu of our June business meeting. It was a great, motivating, inspiring, knowledgeable seminar, training by Mrs. Bolatito Kabiawu the founder of Pink Belle. JULY AND AUGUST 2012 JCI Festac 6th year anniversary was celebrated in grand style on Saturday 4th August 2012, which was rescheduled from 28th July 2012, because the buddies’ time was clashing with Area A ACOPS. Our 6th anniversary celebration was a huge success. The occasion was graced by our International Executive Vice President in charge of Africa $ the Middle East,JCIN Amb. Pascal Dike, JCIN Executive Vice President Oyebanjo Okunuga, JCIN Amb, JCIN Senator BasiAkujobi (JCI Ikoyi), the President of LMJC, JC SupoAkinola and members of LMJC, JCIN LASU board and members, JCIN UNILAG board and members, JCIN UNIILORIN, JCIN AKUNGBA and JCIN OOU

ACTIONS CARRIED OUT BY THE SECRETARIAT DURING THE YEAR • Successful conduct of meetings and general assembly • All meetings and general assembly were well organized and conducted in an efficient, timely and professionally manner • Developed and manage JCI Festac page on Facebook • Ensured effective communication among all the JCI Festac social networking pages, effective and timely dissemination of information to board of directors and members • Prepared notices and minutes of all meetings • Effective record keeping for future references or purpose • Effective publication and communication of Board of Directors and GA resolution • Made sure that there is proper attendance of members at all events • RECOMMENDATION: • *The secretariat in the next LO year should be provided a laptop and a wireless connection for proper dissemination of information and effective record keeping.
Oh well, I hope I didn’t bore you with my long slides, this is just a few of the captivating moment we had in the last few months. It’s been a wonderful and challenging experience to serve as the Executive Secretary of this great chapter, and work with an exceptional team members. As I round up my report I’m getting fired up for another fruitful LO year ahead in 2013 by contesting as the Executive Vice President Individual and International JCI Festac. Thank you for your support during my tenure as the ES, your continuous support in 2013 will be highly appreciated. “Together Everybody Achieves More” I hereby move a motion for the discussion, recommendation and subsequent adoption of this report.
