What They Wore… • Captains and sergeants would wear sashes. • They would put swords on their shoulder belts. • The wore waist belts which held hatchets, sheathed knives, and pouches. • Captains wore a metal crescent or gorget handed down from medieval knights, which was used to protect their throat.
