Edward Guerin works at Lenoir Rhyne University as an assistant coach of the men’s lacrosse team. It is his second season as an assistant coach at the University and he is fulfilling his role with the same dedication as before. He is passionate about lacrosse and enjoys training young boys in the sport.
He believes that his job is a relationship building opportunity, which allows for superior learning, instruction, intensive program development, and individual success measures. Apart from coaching the students in lacrosse, he also instills a strong character and work ethics in them.
As an assistant coach, Edward Guerin handles multiple responsibilities, like recruiting athletically and academically qualified student-athletes, assisting with athlete skill development, practice planning, game planning, academic advising, travel planning, and study hall programs.
In addition to these responsibilities, he manages the substitution box, facilitates agility drills and conditions workouts, trains offensive plays, leads midfielders and attackman through different offensive schemes.
Being a dedicated professional, Edward Guerin takes his job very seriously. For him, being able to boost up the performance of the players is the biggest reward. During the practice sessions, he thoroughly assesses the performance of every player and gives them valuable feedback. He also helps them work on their weaknesses and improve their game. Edward has always received huge appreciation from his students as well as peers for his brilliant coaching.
Edward Guerin’s commendable work as a coach is evident through the numerous wins of Lenoir Rhyne University men’s lacrosse team at various levels. He has coached one SAC scholar athlete of the year, nine pre-season SAC all conference players, thirteen SAC all conference players, & five SAC players of the week.
