Health Targets Progress • The Minister and the Director General are pleased with: • the DHBs continual commitment to improved performance in the six health targets. • strong health targets presence on many local DHB websites and publications • A number of DHBs may not achieve expected year end target results if progress continues at the current rate • Efforts made to date to improve performance are continued, and greater progress is made in future quarters, and into the 2011/12 year.

Health Target definitions • Target definitions have been expanded to include: • intervention logic describing how delivery of the target will support achievement of health sector outcomes • a range of actions and activities that provide examples of initiatives that have a proven impact on target measures • This material has formed the basis of the Annual Plan guidance in relation to the targets • It is expected that Annual Plans will include measurable and meaningful actions to support delivery of each target
