  2. For Class: • A three-ring binder: • Syllabus • Assignment Sheet • Notes (dated/section) • Quizzes • Tests • Any additional information you find necessary Do not have to bring the textbook to class!

  3. Grading 5 Exams: 500 points 90-100% = A Quizzes: 100 points 80-89% = B Homework: 150 points 70-79% = C Final Exam: 200 points 60-69% = D Group Activities: 100 points below 60% = F Total points: 1050 points

  4. What you Need One of the following two options is required and can be purchased at Seminole State College Bookstore. • For $110.25 you can purchase a package that will include two things. • “Hard copy” text • Required Course Code which contains the “E-Book”---exactly the same text (as above) BUT presented electronically • For $109.00 you can purchase: • Required Course Code which contains the “E-Book

  5. Quizzes • Five quizzes • You may NOT make up a quiz if you are late or absent that specific day • May take a quiz early if you know you will be absent • If you complete and understand your homework, ask questions, do the group activities and come to class you will do fine on the quizzes!!

  6. Tests • 5 tests and a comprehensive department exam • There will be NO make-up tests • You may take a test early if you know you will be absent: just let me know in advance • Any missing tests will go into the grade book as a zero. • Re-take option!!

  7. Final Exam • Multiple Choice • 30 problems • Can use a calculator • Timed: 1 hour 30 min • Counts in the grade book as two test grades • No retakes

  8. Retake Day You are ONLY allowed to do a retake if: • Your homework average is above a 75% C. • It will help improve your average **Retake day is the last day of school **Must retake lowest test score or missed test **Can only retake/make up one test ** Can’t be the final **May not need a retake if average is where you want it after the final exam!

  9. Group Activities • - Help prepare you for the tests/quizzes • Get a chance to form study groups with your classmates • Easy points! • Could be a worksheet, game, review problems, etc.. • If absent, can make a group activity up for partial credit!!

  10. Calendar • What topics we will cover in class • What dates tests will be given • What dates you do not have class • What dates your quizzes and group activities will be on

  11. Homework • All homework must be completed using Connect Math. • The dates when your homework assignments are due are on the homework assignment sheet. • These 15 homework assignments will make up your homework grade. • You may not make up a late homework assignment after the due date. • Each homework assignment is worth ten points. On the due date I will take the Connect Math percentage and multiply by 10 points to get your homework grade.

  12. Homework! • All homework assignments are found under the Connect Math program • Assignments have a specific due date which close that night at 11:59 pm. • Can send me homework questions through connect math. • In the syllabus, last page, walks you through how to register for Connect Math
