Joint submission for Box 5 calibration Date: 2015-05-14 Authors: Suhwook Kim, LG Electronics
Abstract • This joint submission provides updated simulation results for Box-5 calibration of each members • However, the results are not matched yet • To speed up the Box-5 calibration, we agreed some detail implementations Suhwook Kim, LG Electronics
Box-5 Calibration [1] • Box 0, 1, and 2 calibration are almost done • Box 3 calibration is now in progress • Box 5 calibration was initially discussed in September meeting • Box 5: Integrated system simulator calibration • The objective is to align a combination of all PHY and MAC features Suhwook Kim, LG Electronics

History on Box-5 Calibration • We have discussed Box-5 calibration from September meeting • Many issues have been agreed and addressed in DCN 1523r5 • Simulator members agreed that we have to focus on 1 BSS UL case in March meeting (BSS B) Suhwook Kim, LG Electronics
Focusing case • No shadowing • Fixed MCS = 5 instead of 7 currently used • Firstly calibrate 3 combinations of 2-STA case (3+9, 3+27, 3+15) • Then we turn to 3-STA case (3+9+27, 3+9+15) Suhwook Kim, LG Electronics
One BSS Test Result • Each STA Throughput [Mbps] Suhwook Kim, LG Electronics
One BSS Test Result • Sum Throughput [Mbps] Suhwook Kim, LG Electronics
Agreement during off-line discussion • Each members make sure own simulator about following issues and specify among this group • Power Spectral density (scale to 80 MHz) • Preamble decoding procedure (EMD 571r8)[9] • Capture window size, preemption window size, etc.. • Each single link performance (STA-AP 1-to-1) • A-MPDU aggregation algorithm Suhwook Kim, LG Electronics
Agreement during off-line discussion • Running time: at least 10 seconds per 1 drop • No capture effect: Receiver is locked during PPDU length • UDP traffic starts during 1.000 ~ 1.010 seconds • Additional performance metrics may be used • PER • 1 - # of success subframes / # of transmitted subframes • Average number of aggregated subframe • # of transmitted subframes / # of transmitted PPDU Suhwook Kim, LG Electronics
Conclusion • This joint submission provided simulation results for Box-5 calibration of each members • We focused 1 BSS UL case • However, the results are not matched yet • To speed up the Box-5 calibration, we agreed some detail implementations • Text for Simulation Scenario Document (980r10) will be presented Suhwook Kim, LG Electronics
