  2. The Maya is a Mesoamerican civilization, noted for the only known fully developed written language of the pre-Columbian Americas, as well as for its art, architecture, mathematical and astronomical systems.

Mayan city built of stone, many of which were abandoned long before the Europeans arrived, others were inhabited and after.Calendar developed by the Maya, used, and other peoples of Central America. Used hieroglyphic writing system, partiallydecoded. Survived numerous inscriptions. Created an effective system of agriculture, had a deep knowledge of astronomy.

  5. The art of the ancient Maya had reached its development during the Classic period (around 250 years - 900 AD ) Wall murals at Palenque, Copan and Bonampak is considered one of the most beautiful.

The beauty of images of people on the frescoes allow us to compare these cultural monuments with cultural monuments of the ancient world. This period of Maya civilization and is considered a classic. Unfortunately, many of the monuments of culture are notsurvived because they were either destroyed by the Inquisition, orthe time.
