  3. New Work Force • 15 Million people joined the military Jobs left open • Women began to fill jobs that were traditionally held by men • Led to changes in women’s role in society • Led to the next stage of Feminism

  4. Social Change • Racial tension occur in the big cities Many immigrants and minorities moved to the cities for jobs Bloody Monday: Race riots in Detroit Zoot Suit: Chicanos in Los Angeles riot in response to Military oppression
