Graphics • Digital representation of non-text information such as a drawing, chart, or photograph. • The first media used to enhance the text-based Internet. • The introduction of graphical Web browsers allowed web page developers to incorporate illustrations, logos, and other images in Web pages. • Of the graphics formats that exist today, the two most JPEG and GIF
Animation • The appearance of motion created by displaying a series of still images in sequence. • Makes the Web page more visually interesting. • Draws attention to important information or links. • Web-based games often use animation. • Text that scrolls across the screen called tickers are also a form of animation.
Audio • Includes music, speech, or any other sound. • Simple audio applications on the Web consist of individual sound files available for downloading to a computer. • There are many formats such as MP3, WAV, and MPEG

Virtual Reality (VR) • The use of a computer to simulate a real or imagined environment that appears as a three-dimensional space. • Games often use VR.
