Dear Dad, I reached Athens a while ago. When I got here I went to the Parthenon right away. The Parthenon is a very famous structure here, it was amazing. The Greeks are wonderfully talented architects. Did you know the Athenians built the Parthenon to worship their Goddess Athena. They also put a statue of Athena inside, it is thirty-five feet high of gold and ivory. The Parthenon wasn’t just built to worship Athena, it was also built after the end of the wars with Persia. The Athenians were such good architects they put optical illusions inside as well. Be home soon. Love, Morgan
Dear Mom, I went to my second site in Athens. It was really cool at the Agora, and I bought some stuff. Just in case you didn’t know an Agora is a marketplace. Athenians sell a lot of things at the Agora, like food. Some food they sell here are olive oil, wine, onions, lettuce, cucumbers, sardines, and etc. To pay for these things they use coins here, and each city-state has their own system of coinage. Most coins are made of metals, and I also saw a trade happen between an Athenian and a Greek. Love, Morgan
