Accelerated Reading (AR) • Individual goals based on abilities • AR books available in DV & classroom libraries • Students must stay caught up on goals • For your child’s current reading level, see Parent Report given out last week
Supplies • Backpack • 3-ring binder with at least 5 tab dividers • Loose-leafed lined paper • 1 subject spiral notebooks (blue & green) • Lots of #2 pencils • Small personal pencil box • Sticky notes • 1 Fresh water bottle each week (for refilling)
Good Study Habits • Keep an organized binder. • Write down assignments each day. • Be prepared with books and materials. • Turn in all assignments on time, neat, and complete. • Participate fully in lessons and activities. • Keep your desk tidy and orderly. • Deliver notes, reports, and other messages back to school with parent signatures.
Homework Approximately 1 hour per day: Review math lesson and finish practice Review vocabulary and/or spelling words Review Science and Social Studies concepts Study for upcoming quizzes and tests Unfinished class work
Attendance • Tardies and early sign-outs disrupt classroom routines and interfere with learning. • Makeup work cannot make up for missed classroom instruction and learning experiences. • Time lost from school = learning lost forever.
