  1. Characterization of Motor Adaptation and Limb Posture Regulation During Arm Reaching Movements Following Stroke Robert Scheidt, Dept. Biomedical Engineering, Marquette Univ. Milwaukee WITina Stoeckmann, Dept. Physical Therapy, Marquette Univ. Milwaukee WI • A planar robot helped characterize how stroke survivors (SS) adapt to novel mechanical environments • SS are less likely than controls to adjust movements based on trajectory errors from previous trials. • This ability is most significantly compromised in subjects with Fugl-Meyer scores < 20 • Accuracy of movement termination also was reduced, but accuracy did not vary with impairment level • Final posture regulation and feed-forward trajectory control may be differentially impaired after stroke Updating based on prior errors (a1) varies with impairment WeB01.01
