  1. And yet I will show you the most excellent way.

  2. 1Corinthians 13:1-13 (NIV) • 1 If I speak in the tongues of men or of angels, but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal.

  3. 2 If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing.

  4. 3 If I give all I possess to the poor and give over my body to hardship that I may boast, but do not have love, I gain nothing.

  5. 4 Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5 It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs.

  6. 6 Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 7 It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.

  7. 8 Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away.

  8. 9 For we know in part and we prophesy in part, 10 but when completeness comes, what is in part disappears.

  9. 11 When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put the ways of childhood behind me.

  10. 12 For now we see only a reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known.

  11. 13 And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.

  12. 4 Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5 It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs.

  13. 6 Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth.

  14. Colossians 3:13 (NIV) • 13 Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you.

  15. Romans 12:17-18 (NIV) • 17 Do not repay anyone evil for evil. Be careful to do what is right in the eyes of everyone. 18 If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone.

  16. Love does not Envy • Zeloo (dzay•lo•o): to be heated or to boil with envy, hatred, anger

  17. Love is patient • perpereuomai (per•per•yoo•om•ahee): • 1 to boast one’s self • 2 a self display, employing rhetorical embellishments in extolling one’s self excessively

  18. Love is not proud • phusioo (foo•see•o•o): to be puffed up, to bear one’s self loftily, be proud. • Arrogant

  19. Love does not dishonor others • aschemoneo (as•kay•mon•eh•o): • “un-remainable or unabidable behavior.”

  20. Love is not self seeking • Seek its own

  21. Here lies a miser who lived for himself, • And cared for nothing but gathering wealth. • Now where he is or how he fares, • Nobody knows and nobody cares.

  22. “Sacred is the memory of General Charles George Gordon, who at all times and everywhere gave his strength to the weak, his substance to the poor, his sympathy to the suffering, his heart to God.”

  23. John 15:10-12 NIV • 10 If you keep my commands, you will remain in my love, just as I have kept my Father’s commands and remain in his love.

  24. John 15:10-12 NIV • 11 I have told you this so that my joy may be in you and that your joy may be complete. 12 My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you.

  25. Love is not easily angered • Love keeps no record of wrongs
