  1. MLK Essay

  2. Tuesday, February 19, 2013 Bell ringer: … in YOUR LIFE FSMS FRANKLIN KENTUCKY The U.S. WORLD AGENDA: Introduce MLK Essay Contest HOMEWORK: “HOW HAS MARTIN LUTHER KING JR.’S DREAM AFFECTED MY DREAM?” INTRODUCTION ONLY

  3. I have a dream… people will act with kindness, Love like it was their last day on earth, and choose to be positive.

  4. A few MORE ideas… Students could have an “anger room” where they could punch a punching bag or scream into a pillow when they’re mad. Random acts of kindness would be more frequent. Video games had a time limit on them so players couldn’t be on them all day.

  5. MARTIN LUTHER KING JR. What do you know about him and his dream?

  6. I say to you today, my friends, that in spite of the difficulties and frustrations of the moment, I still have a dream. It is a dream deeply rooted in the American dream. I have a dream that one day this nation will rise up and live out the true meaning of its creed: "We hold these truths to be self-evident: that all men are created equal.” I have a dream that one day on the red hills of Georgia the sons of former slaves and the sons of former slave owners will be able to sit down together at a table of brotherhood. I have a dream that one day even the state of Mississippi, a desert state, sweltering with the heat of injustice and oppression, will be transformed into an oasis of freedom and justice. I have a dream that my four children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character. I have a dream today.

  7. Analogy Martin Luther King Jr. is a modern day ___(celebrity)___ because __(what have they done?)_______. Ex. Martin Luther King Jr. is a modern day Sarah Mclachlanbecause Martin Luther fought for the rights of African Americans and she fights for animal rights.

Find a statistic. How many people are affected by cyber-bullying? How many kids go without socks and shoes in the winter? How many hours are wasted that could be spent volunteering? Dialogue
