History of WMG Warner Music Group was first founded in 1958 as Warner Bros. Records. In 1971 it became WEA (Warner-Elektra-Atlantic). It remained WEA for 13 years before changing it to Warner Music group. In 2004 the headquarters for WMG was moved to New York City.
History of WMG (continued) • The key people responsible for running WMG are the Chairmen and CEO , Edgar Bronfman Jr. ; Lyor Cohen, the North American Chairman and CEO; Rob Cavallo; Chief creative officer and Kevin Liles, the executive Vice President. • Although it has changed names over the years, Warner Music Group has been in the music and entertainment industry for over 50 years. • Their revenue is reported to total over $3.4 billion in gross profits with a net income of $56 million. • In addition, reports show as of 2008, Warner Music Group employs 4,000 people.
The graph shows that the numbers of profit is increasing everyday.
Conclusion As our project progressed, we monitored Warner Music Group’s stock. With their outstanding records and publishing, the stock for WMG went sky rocketing upward. By the end of the project, we had a big accomplishment investing in the WMG gaining the total of about ten thousand dollars.
