  1. What did we Learn from the egg drop experiment? Mrs. Thiry’s 4th and 5th grade classes

  2. We were given a problem”How do we get an egg to not break when dropped from a distance?

  3. We made a hypothesis:what could we fill our container with that would prevent the egg from breaking?

  4. We conducted our experiment

  5. We made observations using our senses sight and hearing

  6. And then the conclusion… did it break?

  7. What were the control variables? • We dropped it from the same height. • We dropped it the same way. • We used the same icing containers • We dropped it onto the same surface.

  8. What were the independent variables in the 4th grade experiment?

  9. All the different filling inside!

  10. Is it important to keep all of these control variables the same? Why?

  11. If the control variables weren’t the same would the comparisons between the containers be fair?
