MEZQUITAL VALLEY • “Mezquital” Valley is located at 60 km northeast from the Metropolitan Zone of the Mexico City in the Hidalgo State. • The wastewaters are used, without any treatment in a massive way, for forage crop irrigation or restricted. • Mexico City and the surrounding urban area are supplied with 64 m3/s, and generate a wastewater average caudal of 40 m3/s. • Are irrigated more than 85,000 has. PTAR ATOTONILCO, HGO. • Startedtheconstruction of thetreatmentplant in Atotonilco, withaninstalledcapacity of 23 m3/s, secondarybiologicaltreatment and 12 m3/s chemicaltreatment. Benefits: • In 2014 will be the 57.5% of thewastewatergenerated in the Valley of Mexico. • • Irrigationwithtreatedwastewater of more than 50 thousandhectares in the Mezquital Valley, increasingitsagriculturalpotential. • • Clean up thebodies and surfacechannelsthatreceivewastewater. • • Improvethesanitaryconditions of more than 300 thousandpeople living in thearea.
