  4. Molecules of oxygen and carbon dioxide are passively exchanged, by diffusion, between the gaseous external environment and the blood.

  5. Hemoglobin • Is the protein that contains oxygen and transport oxygen into the red blood cells of all vertebrates. • From the lungs or the gills, to all the body. • Hemoglobin is involved also to transport other types of gases such as carbon dioxide.
