3. Introduction • Most people think ponies and horses are the same thing but there not ponies are smaller than horses. The cut of for a pony is 14.2 hands. So I am going to be talking about ponies not horses just to make that clear. • Pony Horse

4. Trained Ponies • Trained ponies are smarter than wild ponies. They know how to jump and other things. They are very well behaved usually. Some people think that ponies that are trained are abused. But they are bread to do it and they also like to. Also they get treats and most are spoiled.

5. Wild Ponies • Wild ponies are not the friendliest to humans because they are not use to humans. They are not the best behaved. Wild ponies die earlier than trained ponies because there are no vets to treat them for their illness. Wild ponies usually live to be 15-20 years old. But they are happy in the wild.

6. Markings & Colors Face Markings A little white diamond on a ponies face is called a star. A skinny white stripe in the middle of a ponies face is called a stripe. A very wide stripe in the middle of the ponies face is called a blaze. A very small splash of white is called a snip. Leg Markings A white strip up to the hock is called a stocking. A white stripe half the size of the stocking is called a sock. 8. A Ponies Heath • The most common illness is “thrush.”Thrush occurs when a pony stands in water or snow for to long. It makes a ponies hoof soft and it hurts their leg. A pony usually lives to be 20-30 years old. Wild ponies usually die earlier than ponies that are kept as pets. Wild ponies usually die between 15-20 years old. A smaller ponies weight should be around 500-600 pounds a larger ponies weight should be around 700-800 pounds.

9. Breeds There are many types of breeds but the most common breed of ponies are welsh ponies. There are four different kinds of welsh ponies there's section A, B, C and D. Section B originally came from Arabians ponies. They are most used for completive ponies. This type of breed has been around since the 1900’s. Section C was originally bread between welsh sections A and D. They where once used for farm work. They are usually 13.2 hand but they can be bigger or smaller.

10. Life Cycle Foal is 0-2 years old also called a filly/colt. Young 2-6 years old also the growing stage. Middle age is 7-10 years old just starting to be an adult. 10-20 is mating time. 20-30 is dyeing time.
