Welcome to Upper KS2 (Year 5/6) Hawks Class – Mrs Weinberg Lapwings Class – Mrs Frost Eagles Class – Miss Harteveldt Kingfishers Class – Mrs Newton Fire exit
Our Daily routine is… • 8.45 – Classroom door opens. Children put lunch boxes on the trolley. • 8.50 – Class register takes place and early morning activities begin. • 9.00 – Register closes, doors are shut and morning lessons start. • 10.45 – Outdoor play – children may have their fruit during playtime. • 12.10 – Lunchtime. • 1.00 – Afternoon lessons begin. • 3.00 – Home time.
These are the things that children need to bring to school every day. • During the day children in KS2 have an opportunity for a snack during morning break between 10.45 and 11.00. 1 piece of fruit is sufficient. Please do not send biscuits/fruit bars/ sugary snacks etc. • It is important that children drink plenty of water during the day, so please continue to provide your child with a clear plastic water bottle or school bottle with your child’s name on it (sports top). • A small school bag so that letters and homework book etc can be transported to and from school. • Reading / Library Books – children will need these every day! • Please continue to label all of your child’s items of clothing and remember to bring P.E. kits to school at the beginning of the week, the children should take these home at the end of the week so they can be washed over the weekend.

How you can help us • It is important to either hear your child read or encourage competent readers to read for enjoyment every day. • Homework – please ensure your child completes their homework on time and to the best of their ability. • Communication – please inform the office of any changes to personal information. Please do not hesitate in speaking to your child’s class teacher regarding any concerns they may have.
Please come and join us! • If you have some spare time on your hands and an up to date CRB (Safeguarding) check then let us know and we would welcome your help in our classroom. • Things we might ask you to do… Helping children practise their spelling! Reading with children. Going on school trips or walks. Helping with cooking and craft activities. Helping with their mental maths.
The Golden Rules • We are kind with our words and actions. • We listen and follow instructions. • We are honest and tell the truth. • We work hard and always try our best in everything we do. • We are safe because we think before we act.
