R.O.P. IS NOW C.T.E. - WHAT IS C.T.E.? • Career and Technical Education (C.T.E.) provides students with the opportunity to explore the world of work. • By applying the academics and skills acquired while in high school to a real job environment, students may upgrade their existing skills and/or prepare for advanced training. • All of this is accomplished through a combination of classroom instruction by qualified instructors and supervised hands-on training in laboratory or real work environments.
What is the Animal Health Course? This course will give the student an in-depth understanding of the animal health field as it relates to veterinary medicine, other animal health services and to prepare students for an entry level position in those fields. Upon completion of the course, students will be competent in the following: • Nutrition • Basic grooming • Basic anatomy/physiology • Safety • Basic medical terminology • Zoonotic diseases • Veterinary office procedures • Identifying breeds of dogs, cats, livestock & exotics • And so much more!
Animal behavior, handling and psychology will be important segments of this course, along with learning effective oral and written communication skills. Clip showing restraint and hoof trimming procedure Guest lecturers, animal health technicians, zoo keepers and other industry individuals will provide additional knowledge of current practices in today’s animal health fields.
