What is Literacy? • Literacy is the ability to use printed and written information to function in society, to achieve one's goals, and to develop one's knowledge and potential. • Literacy is the ability to make and communicate meaning from and by the use of a variety of socially contextual symbols.

  3. Drama and Literacy Drama can be used to enhance literacy in the following ways: • Play reading • Play writing • Play making/devising • Storytelling • Process drama
