Liepaja Secondary School Nr.5. School exists from 1919, but officially was opened on 2nd of October in 1938 Our school is the biggest school in Latvia We are 1202 students and 96 teachers in our school We also have students’ council with 48 participants

School exists from 1919, but officially was opened on 2nd of October in 1938 • Our school is the biggest school in Latvia • We are 1202 students and 96 teachers in our school • We also have students’ council with 48 participants • In our school students get marks from 1 to 10 • In our school there are students from age 7 to 19
Traditions in our school • We have 37 traditions, at least • One of the biggest tradition is Friendly Call day when our school celebrates Karlis name day • Another great tradition for high school students is Christmas ball right before Christmas
Languages From the beginning of the school’s existence there has been specialization in German. That means first foreign language is German. Usually it is English. Also there is a possibility to study: • English • Russian • French • Spanish • Latin
Developing personalities Also we have many hobby groups or optional subjects like drama, English debates, choir, youth ensemble, folkdances, journalism, sport activities, new geographers’ group, new biologists’ group, where students can develope their personalities
