Upotrebljavamo used to i would da govorimo o radnjama koje su se u prošlosti redovito ponavljale, ali se više ne događaju; a ovakvu konstrukciju obično prevodimo sa “nekada sam” ili “običavao sam”: We used to live in a crowded flat and now we have a comfortable house. I would often take my kids to the cinema when they were younger. (I don’t take them to the cinema anymore).
